MEET DAIL

Dail explores the intersections of memory, place, and color, translating moments of personal experience into vibrant, geometric compositions. Her work is deeply rooted in the idea of how color can evoke a sense of time and space, capturing the essence of both the familiar and the foreign. The Here & There series reflects her ongoing fascination with how color palettes, inspired by her travels and daily life, can encapsulate emotions tied to specific locations. Each piece is a distillation of these moments, offering viewers a chance to connect with the shared language of color while experiencing their own emotional resonance.
Alongside Here & There, her People We Love series uses a similar visual language to explore the ways color can represent the presence and memory of loved ones. By creating color portraits inspired by photographs, stories, and personal reflections, she translates the essence of individuals into abstract compositions. This series is a celebration of the people who shape our lives, inviting viewers to reflect on their own cherished connections through the lens of color.
Dail Williams has a Masters in Art Education and her bachelor’s degree has a concentration of Printmaking. She taught in Chicago for most of her 14 years as an art educator. She is currently working out of her home studio in Chicago, IL.
